The dentist that I’ve been going to for much of my life retired sometime last year, and his replacement is much keener on techniques that are certainly doing a much more thorough job whilst also being a lot more painful. I was never one of those kids (possibly just stereotypes) that was nervous of the dentist because I’ve never had anything done to my teeth, and I suppose I’m going to have to take this new level of preventitive treatment with gritted teeth.

I’m watching Jasper Carrot on The Frank Skinner Show and it strikes me just how well the lighting and set work to make the people on it seem so vibrant and alive: there’s a glowing blue back wall that makes those in front of it jump out without seeming at all orangey. Good stuff.

LA Story is on TV: a lovely, lovely film. I first saw it just over a year ago, if memory serves…
But I need to sleep now. Tomorrow we have to present our King Lear designs, and there’s a whole lot more essay to get done.
