AOHL: Update

Monday, 16 February, 2004 — filed under: academic / AOHL / news / tv

This week we were planning on filming elements for Attempts On Her Life, both of our performers in the theatre and some background visuals at Manchester Airport. We all suspected that airports wouldn’t be too keen on having a bunch of students running around in these troubled times, and today we got the no-ahead.

King Of All She Surveys

Saturday, 14 February, 2004 — filed under: audio / news / tv / web

The wonderful Lorelei King was in the first of a new series of Jonathan Creek tonight. The episode itself was a surprising return to form, and Ms King lent her considerable presence and silk-smooth voice to the ridiculous set-ups.

Wednesday, 24 December, 2003 — filed under: film / news / tv

Peace and Carrots

Monday, 22 December, 2003 — filed under: film / lighting / news / tv

I’m watching Jasper Carrot on The Frank Skinner Show and it strikes me just how well the lighting and set work to make the people on it seem so vibrant and alive: there’s a glowing blue back wall that makes those in front of it jump out without seeming at all orangey. Good stuff.

Days, Weeks, Things

Monday, 22 December, 2003 — filed under: audio / film / news / tv

So I’m back at my parents’ house for Christmas, and my net-access is reduced to the sort of click-’connect’-then-download-mail-then-click-’disconnect’ behaviour that I used to find so utterly ridiculous.

By The Setting Of The Sun

LA Story is on TV: a lovely, lovely film. I first saw it just over a year ago, if memory serves…

But I need to sleep now. Tomorrow we have to present our King Lear designs, and there’s a whole lot more essay to get done.
